Archie, in Year 7, achieved a special certificate last week for his model of the solar system.
He presented the model as his entry in the headmaster's challenge, where the pupils were asked to independently explore the work of Einstein, celebrating the 100th year of the publication of his ideas on time and space.
The model was beautifully worked and presented, demonstrating a real engagement with the project.
The challenge was a real success, so much so that I found myself having lunch with a group of our pupils last week who bombarded me with the facts they had learned about his notions of time and space, how time shifts and bends and the fact that Einstein hated wearing socks. You certainly learn something every day working in education.
