OSA Football Report – 16th November 2013
This year’s hotly contested match took place on a gloriously, sunny day! A team of Old Shorehamers once again returned to their old stomping ground to take on the School team, made up of current pupils, recent leavers and staff. The OSA team were on fine form and got off to a flying start taking a 5-1 lead! But the School team battled back to 5-4 and incredibly, scored the equaliser with the last kick of the game! For the second year running, the match went to nail-biting penalties. With four goals a piece, it reached sudden death…..the School team scored and the OSA team missed! So, once again, it was celebration time for the School. As captain of the School team, James Cox accepted the Wynne Statham Challenge Trophy during a presentation at afternoon tea.
Well done to all those who took part and I thank them for their continued support of the Association. Huge thanks to Dan Stoner for organising the OSA team and to Mr Edlin for organising the School team. Thank you also to the kitchen staff for the sumptuous afternoon tea. And final thanks to Mr Warner and the College for hosting the event.
