85th Reunion Dinner – Saturday 17th November 2012

The 85th Reunion Dinner was held at a new venue this year, the Metropole in Brighton and this proved to be a popular move. The ballroom with its high ceiling and chandeliers, was very grand and the room was decorated with balloons in the College colours. Invites to the Dinner were this year extended to partners and this worked very well.

Guests were met at the bottom of the grand staircase by the official event photographer, Amber Morgan, an Old Shorehamer herself. Following Dinner, the competitive ‘Guess the length of the Headmaster’s Speech’ took place and was won by Christopher Wynne in a time of 8 minutes 54 seconds.

Following the traditional speeches, raffle and sports trophies presentations, the Alice Band took to the stage. This local band played popular cover versions and it was wonderful to see so many people dancing into the early hours, a fantastic atmosphere!

I would personally like to thank Daniel Stoner for his part in organising this very successful event and also, to thank Ashley Warner and the College for their continued support. Final thanks to Sean Mills for being a wonderful MC!
